2024 ANNUAL REPORT
Partnerships and Alliances
Our network of collaborations reflects a shared commitment to sustainability, with projects that integrate science, innovation and global action
Collaboration and strategic alliances are key to driving innovation in water management and environmental conservation. During 2024, we have intensified our work, establishing partnerships with 7 other multilateral institutions. These collaborations have enabled us to effectively address environmental challenges and advance sustainable solutions for the future. Together with our partners, we have tackled major global challenges such as offshore wind farm design, stormwater protection for cities, plastic removal from the oceans and watershed management. Through these initiatives, we support climate adaptation, build resilience and reduce environmental impact. Our partnerships with international agencies, academic institutions and companies in key sectors such as engineering, insurance and economics enable us to positively influence global policies, drive innovation and broaden our impact.
Collaborations with administrations and research centers
We support evidence-based decision making
In 2024, IHCantabria has strengthened collaboration with 18 national and 5 regional administrations, promoting public policies based on scientific evidence. We have consolidated relationships with 4 research centers and 6 universities, favoring the transfer of knowledge and technology. At the international level, we signed a Framework Agreement with the IRIS Climate Foundation of Cuba and a General Cooperation Agreement with the Universidad del Magdalena of Colombia. In addition, we extended our institutional contribution with the Universidad Tecnológica de La Habana (CUJAE), of Cuba, through a collaboration agreement with the Sociedad de Interfaz de Ciencia y Tecnología de la Universidad Tecnológica de La Habana “José Antonio Echeverría” (CETA S.A.).

Collaborations with companies
Working with the private sector to develop innovative solutions
In 2024, IHCantabria has strengthened relationships with more companies in various sectors, including energy, engineering and consulting. These partnerships are key to developing innovative and sustainable solutions, such as in offshore engineering and energy efficiency projects. By collaborating with the business sector, we have enhanced our ability to address climate change, reduce environmental impacts and support the resilience of water-related social-ecological systems. Together, we are developing solutions that make a difference, from offshore wind farm design to large city protection and watershed management, globally.
