2024 ANNUAL REPORT

Sustainability is a central part of our DNA and our purpose

IHCantabria emerges as a reference point in sustainability

We strive to contribute positively to the sustainable development of the planet in everything we do; therefore, sustainability is part of the nature of our work, which stands out as a premise of our institutional mission and vision. This commitment is reflected in all our activities, including the evaluation and reduction of our environmental impact. In 2024, we quantified our emissions at 42.8 TnsCO2eq direct and 381.7 TnsCO2eq indirect, achieving an emissions ratio of 40.6 TnsCO2eq/M€.

In line with Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) principles, we participate in more than 130 projects aimed at environmental protection and sustainable development, consolidating the positive impact of science on society. Our
efforts are focused on identifying and evaluating the sustainable benefits of our solutions and driving sustainability as an added value in collaboration with partners and customers.

In addition, we face challenges in attracting and retaining talent, adopting an inclusive culture that promotes diversity and ensures equal opportunities for all, strengthening our innovative capacity and our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

A responsible institution

We remain committed to CSR and promote ESG actions

At IHCantabria, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and the Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) approaches are fundamental pillars of our institutional strategy. We act responsibly by integrating sustainability at three key levels: environmental footprint, diversity and inclusion, and operational excellence. This commitment is aligned with the ISO 26000:2021 Standard, prioritizing environmental management, pollution prevention and transparency in our operations. Our ESG approach drives concrete actions to reduce carbon emissions, foster a safe and ethical work environment, and promote well-being and professional development.

In 2024, we have allocated more than one million euros to educate our staff, consolidating a positive perception of safety and adequate resources among more than 86% of our employees.

In addition, we have participated in numerous projects aimed at sustainable water management and environmental protection, contributing to a positive regional and international impact. At IHCantabria, sustainability is not just a goal; it is our way of contributing to a more just and resilient future.
